Who: Rachael and Matthew Taylor

When: Aug. 27, 2022

Rachael and Matthew Taylor met during medical school in 2015. "We were actually cadaver partners—what could be more romantic than that?" Rachael says.

"For our proposal, we took a trip to Hood River, Oregon in spring of 2021, and the proposal happened at the top of a rocky hike, overlooking the Columbia River Gorge." Rachael says. "It was just the two of us, in a beautiful place."

The pair wanted to make their wedding weekend a representation of them as a couple, which they were "deliberate about in the planning process." The couple's weekend included thoughtful selections in the meals offered, including Rachael's special, homemade cookies n' creme cookies in the welcome bags for guests, hand-written letters, "special loved ones giving toasts at our rehearsal," and the couple's signature drink, a Bermuda, aptly named for their honeymoon destination.

"It was such a magical day to be surrounded by our loved ones and to celebrate our marriage," Rachael says. "The whole weekend was filled with memories we will cherish forever." Highlights of the weekend included Rachael's dad's "beautiful and heartwarming father of the bride speech," having their dear friend, Anita, sing the newlywed's first dance song, and "dancing the night away" with friends and family to "the amazing Conspiracy band."
