Real Columbus Wedding: The Dissmores’ Love For God and One Another

The couple got married at the Athletic Club of Columbus in early fall of 2022, treasuring many special moments throughout their celebration.

The story: Bethany and Joshua Dissmore knew each other through high school, college and into their careers, but really “found each other” in an “unexpected season,” which started a journey that they say is still just beginning. Their first official date was Feb. 17, 2021, “but we already knew that we were committed to seeing it through,” the couple says. “From spending many hours on long road trips, navigating through hectic work schedules, leading a Bible study together and beginning to plan our future in marriage, we drew closer to one another and closer to God,” the couple says. “It became evident that we made a powerful team.”

The proposal: They say that Feb. 4, 2022, will always be a day to remember, as this was when Joshua proposed to Bethany with an in-home proposal. “With much support and inspiration from family and friends, we committed to one another and entered the engagement season,” the two say. “We are wonderfully and immeasurably blessed.”

The wedding: The couple got married at the Athletic Club of Columbus in early fall 2022, treasuring many special moments throughout their celebration. One of them was Joshua’s dad and uncle playing a string duet during the ceremony while the couple was partaking in communion.

For the reception, and with the help of family and friends, Bethany and Joshua put together a homemade cookie and dessert table with various types of cookies from both sides of the family

“Dancing the night away with all our favorite family and friends was one of the most memorable moments,” the couple says.
