Mochi Ring Opens First Ohio Location; Mackenzie River Pub at Polaris Closes

Plus, AJ’s Tacos finds a new home, and GoreMade Pizza will host an Easter brunch.

Mochi Ring opened its first Ohio location at 1144 Kenny Centre Mall on the Northwest Side last week. The small national chain is known for its Japanese mochi doughnuts (made with a sticky rice flour), as well as Korean corn dogs and boba tea.

A location of Finjin Café opened last week at 4734 Cemetery Road in Hilliard. The Middle Eastern coffee house, based out of eastern Michigan, focuses on Yemeni coffees. It serves a variety of traditional Yemeni drinks, espresso, smoothies and snacks.

Mackenzie River Pub has closed its Polaris location at 1515 Polaris Parkway and removed it from its website. Its location at 1281 Hill Road North in Pickerington remains open.

The AJ’s Tacos food truck announced that it has moved to Third Way Coffee, 3059 West Broad St. on the West Side. AJ’s is known particularly for its tacos and other specialty items featuring birria, a stewed meat that’s served with sides of consume.

Easter brunch is fast approaching: GoreMade Pizza in Italian Village is hosting a special Holy Toast Brunch. The multicourse menu will feature grains provided by Local Millers, a collective using regenerative farming practices to grow heritage grains.
