As part of a new initiative called the Ground Floor Growth Program, a series of women- and minority-owned businesses are moving Downtown near the intersection of Broad and High streets. This includes Black Kahawa coffee roasters, which previously announced it will open a coffee patio near the intersection. Last week, Isabella Bonello, owner of Three Bites Bakery and 2022 Columbus Monthly Tastemaker, announced that her bakery will join forces with Little Cat Boba and move to 12 E. Broad St. Little Cat Boba currently operates a stall inside East Market, and will maintain that location, while Bonello will move from her current King-Lincoln Bronzeville storefront. Both Black Kahawa and Three Bites are slated to open sometime this year.

The owner of the Mangiamo Handmade Street Food truck is opening its first brick and mortar, called 1801 Tavern, this Thursday, April 11. Located at 9721 Sawmill Rd., 1801 Tavern will feature a full bar with 20 beer taps and a cocktail menu, plus a full menu of shareables, sliders, sandwiches, pizzas and wings.

A new dessert bar is headed to Gravity in Franklinton. Sweetful will open at 453 W. Broad St. this summer, offering ice cream, cake, pie, doughnuts and more.

Speaking of sweets, Mardi Gras Homemade Ice Cream has reopened for the season at 1947 Hard Road. The family-run ice cream shop is known for its internationally inspired lineup of flavors, like mango, pistachio, fig and cardamom.
